Overview
A leading healthcare institute in Brazil is looking to establish its presence in the dental plan market through digital solutions for its patients focused on preventive oral health and increasing the number of affiliated dentists.
Through a discovery phase, it was possible to gather insights, identify focal points, map feature opportunities, and design a user-centered experience. These journeys were consolidated into a navigable prototype, encompassing client and dentist experiences.

Brand Decisions
I chose blue and water green for their associations with trust, health, and calmness. Blue symbolizes professionalism and reliability, key in healthcare, while water green conveys freshness and well-being, aligning with dental care goals.
The smile in the logo reflects the brand name “Sorriso” (meaning “smile” in Portuguese), symbolizing happy, healthy smiles—creating an approachable, positive image for the dental insurance plan.

Ideation & Prototype
The Dentist Platform
Everything your clinic needs
in one place
The Dentist system was completely designed to facilitate the demands of a dental clinic, such as:
Calendar Visualization
Easily manage appointments with an intuitive calendar interface ensuring efficient scheduling and time management.
Odontogram Chart
Access detailed and interactive odontogram charts for each patient, allowing for efficient tracking of dental health, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
Financial reports
Handle patient billing, insurance claims, and financial reporting, ensuring a smooth and organized financial workflow
Blog Posts
Create and publish informative blog posts to help patients and engage other doctors
The Outcome
After building the prototype, we tested it with previous survey participants to refine the screens before presenting it to stakeholders.
The stakeholders expressed interest in incorporating 3D graphics for the Odontogram to enhance visual appeal but due to budget and schedule constraints, we suggested a 2D version with micro interactions. We plan to explore 3D graphics in future updates after collecting more user data.
Key Learnings
My work on this project revealed key insights.
Importance of Early User Testing
Conducting user testing before presenting the pages to stakeholders allowed for timely feedback and adjustments, ensuring the design was user-focused and aligned with stakeholder expectations right from the start.
Balancing Functionality and Simplicity
While advanced features like a 3D odontogram were requested, staying mindful of budget and deadlines taught the importance of prioritizing simpler, effective solutions without compromising usability.
